#BookBlogWriMo - Your Review Process

The rest of the posts here!
Today's Topic: Your Review Process - Do you write your review the second you finish the book? Months later? Take notes as you read?

The process... well actually I do have a sort of process...

Step One:  Read Book

Step Two:  Write notes about book in my handy-dandy notebook

Step Three:  Write review so it shows up on the magical writy box sitting on this slab of wood that is my desk.

Yeah.  So that's the process.

But really.  So I do read the book.  If it's on my kindle, I'll take notes as I read.  If it's a hard copy, well I'll just have to spend a little more time thinking about what to write down in my notebook.  Which leads me to step 2!

So for step 2, I just write down anything I want to include in my review.  I use bullet lists (is that even how you say it??) (I can't stand hand-writing (which is why in almost all of my author interviews I'll have that question because I can't fathom why people hand-write) so I write as little as humanly possible).  Chances are that I'll remember the entire book once I read the blurb again and some of my notes.  I have a weird memory like that.

And step three!  I just take 15-20 minutes to write my review (yes I did time myself once...).  That's how long it takes me to write a good quality review.  Mini reviews obviously take less time (about 10 minutes).   So I just put a picture of the cover, some popular buy links and Goodreads link, the blurb, my review, and any favorite quotes I took note of.  And then I share it with the world!  I honestly wish someone had invented the technology where I could like hand you candy from my computer screen to yours.  Somebody get on that!

Oh and I also always have to be eating something while I'm reviewing books.  I have no idea why... which is why I have a candy stash on my desk (specifically a large jar of skittles to be devoured in one sitting).

What's your review process?
