What's the difference between proofreading and beta reading?
Proofreading is simply keeping an eye out for typos, grammatical errors, and overall syntax flow. Beta reading is a bit more intense and is about more structural aspects such as characters, plot structure and plot holes, story arc, etc.
How fast can you finish my manuscript?
Beta reading typically takes me 30 pages/hour and proofreading about 60 pages/hour. All said and done, I'm generally able to complete a beta read within four days and proofreading within two days depending on the genre and length of the manuscript.
What's the benefit of employing a beta reader or proofreader?
Quite simply, it raises the quality of your manuscript thereby increasing the probability of good ratings and better sales. However, self-publishing is expensive! If my rates don't fit within your budget but you're still interested, feel free to reach out to me and we can work out a compromise.
