My Apologies

Hello everyone!  So lately, I'm been having writers block.  I sit and stare at my unfinished (really I've only written two lines) review of Bonds of Fate by Jason Crawford of which I promised him a review quite some time ago.  There are other reviews as well that need writing (as you can tell from my currently reading shelf) but quite frankly, I just don't know what to say!  Or rather, I know what I want to say but I can't find the words.  So what I'm going to do it just pretend this week never happened and start fresh again after the weekend.  I'll most probably put up posts for these days that I didn't get them up in time just to keep my schedule for the summer uninhibited.  My apologies for the weird ins and outs of my blog and I'm sure I'll be able to finish that review once I get back from the weekend!  Thank you for your patience!

R&R Review Friday: For the People: United We Stand by R. Holland

Amazon  Goodreads  Barnes and Noble

Goodreads Blurb:
"Defending her people and fighting back the Zeniths, has been a constant struggle for Kira and the Nadirs. Not to mention, keeping the two people she loves the most from killing each other. But now there is a new threat. The Zeniths have attacked their colony and are pushing back the fences! When Kira decides enough is enough, she realizes only when their numbers grow, will they be strong enough to fight for their land. Unfortunately, she discovers not all Nadirs are warm and welcoming in the “Deep South.” When keeping her people safe proves deadly, but uniting the Nadirs in the South becomes deadlier, Kira is forced to make some tough decisions.

All the while, deep and dark memories of the facility start to resurface. What did the doctor mean they have big plans for her? And what did he mean by, when she comes of age?"

R&R/ARC Review, Interview, and GIVEAWAY Tuesday: Goodbye, Magnolia by Krista Noorman

Goodreads Blurb:
"Wedding photography is Maggie's passion. The art of capturing a moment forever in time is magical to her, and she's worked hard to become the best of the best. Week after week, she works with couples as they plan their happily ever afters, but she hasn't been so lucky in love.

Behind the camera, it's easy to hide from the pain and rejection of her past. The life she has made for herself is safe and predictable, until the owner of a rival photography studio sets up shop in her small town and comes to her with an unexpected proposal. Suddenly, everything she has worked so hard to build is threatened and her simple, controlled life is thrown into chaos.

As she travels the state of Michigan photographing weddings, she struggles to keep her business afloat and the wall around her heart intact. But along the way, she learns more about loyalty and love than she ever imagined."

Movie Monday: The Scorch Trials Trailer

So I thought I'd do something other than a movie review today.  Let's just make this Movie Monday!  I have watched two new movies that I am reviewing but their reviews aren't done yet and an exciting trailer came out so lets watch that instead!

P.S. I am writing this a day late and posting it on Monday (today is Tuesday)... so sorry about that!  I had thought I had scheduled a post for yesterday (Monday) but when I looked nothing was published so I'm not sure what happened there.  But doesn't it feel like time travel?  I brought this trailer to my corner of the blogosphere a day early even though it isn't really a day earlier!

IMDB Blurb:
"After having escaped the Maze, the Gladers now face a new set of challenges on the open roads of a desolate landscape filled with unimaginable obstacles."

Based on book 2 of the Maze Runner series by James Dashner

R&R/ARC Review Sunday: London Bound by Amy Daws

Goodreads Blurb:
"After falling in love with "us" in the first two installments of the London Lovers Series, now...it's Leslie's turn in this spicy series stand alone.***

When Leslie Lincoln, a spunky, red-headed American, suffers an awkward moment with an arousingly-sexy British man—she thinks her life can't get any more pathetic.

She's done with men.
She doesn't need them.
She especially doesn't need their muscular thighs.
No siree, she's going to forget all about the brooding, complicated, and seductive "Theo" who captivated her on the dance floor of a London nightclub.

Keep telling yourself that, Lez.....

Immersing herself into a new type of romantic cleanse, Leslie thinks she'll never lay eyes on Theo again. But somehow, he's managed to bulldoze his way back in—her cheetah-print onesie pajamas be damned.

He wants more.
She wants to run.
But he can’t seem to let her go.

Both of them have a past—and neither want to share.

How can love possibly survive in darkness?"

Review Friday: A Beautiful Dark by Jocelyn Davies

Goodreads Blurb:
"On the night of Skye’s seventeenth birthday, she meets two enigmatic strangers. Complete opposites—like fire and ice—Asher is dark and wild, while Devin is fair and aloof. Their sudden appearance sends Skye’s life into a tailspin. She has no idea what they want, or why they seem to follow her every move—only that their presence coincides with a flurry of strange events. Soon she begins to doubt not just the identity of the two boys, but also the truth about her own past.

In the dead of a bitingly cold Colorado winter, Skye finds herself coming to terms with the impossible secret that threatens to shatter her world. Torn between Asher, who she can’t help falling for, and Devin, who she can’t stay away from, the consequences of Skye’s choice will reach further than the three of them could ever imagine.

A Beautiful Dark is the first book in a captivating trilogy by debut author Jocelyn Davies."

Bookish Discussions: The Dreaded DNF Marking

Today's Topic is DNF's aka Did Not Finish books!  We all have those books.  You mean well.  You pick it up and are either so excited to find out what happens or are a bit skeptical.  Then you get 5, 10, 15, 20 pages in and you're cringing every other page.  Soon, you get to page 50 and can't take it anymore.  However there are some people who refuse to mark books as DNF's.  Let's get to the bottom of it!

Review Friday: Dangerous by Shannon Hale

Goodreads Blurb:
"Maisie Danger Brown just wanted to get away from home for a bit, see something new. She never intended to fall in love. And she never imagined stumbling into a frightening plot that kills her friends and just might kill her, too. A plot that is already changing life on Earth as we know it. There's no going back. She is the only thing standing between danger and annihilation.

From NY Times bestselling author Shannon Hale comes a novel that asks, How far would you go to save the ones you love? And how far would you go to save everyone else?"
