Tag Tuesday: The Social Media Book Tag

I first saw this over at Reading is Dreaming With Eyes Open back in August (I know, I'm so behind on tags...)!  It was originally created at Faulty Devices.  All you have to do is answer the bookish question for each form of social media!

Your favorite shortest book:

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

With a mere 180 pages, I think this book can be classified as short.  I actually watched the movie first but the book was just as descriptive!

The book everyone pressured you into reading:

The Book Thief by Mark Zusak

I was torn between The Fault in Our Stars and The Book Thief but The Book Thief won out.  Everyone was just nonstop telling me how deep and thought provoking and downright amazing this book is so I read it.  It definitely lived up to my expectations!

A book you read before it was cool:

Touched by Corrine Jackson

I actually read this back in 2012 right after it was released (I joined Goodreads in July 2013) so I mean, I'm not positive it had no hype, but it wasn't the largest fanbase out there.

A book you can't remember whether you liked it or not:

The Declaration by Gemma Malley

I read this before I was a part of Goodreads and seriously I was power reading back then.  Like a book/a book and a half a night.  I didn't even stop to reflect on whether it was good or not.  It was just "okay I finished it, where's the next one?".  Yeah...

A cover that's so beautiful you had to instagram it and show it to everyone:

Halo by Alexandra Adornetto

I just love the shades of yellow and orange :)  The story turned out... okay... but the cover - Wow!!

A book you wish would be turned into a movie:

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

This book is just amazeballs.  Truly.  If you haven't read it, now's the time.  So yes, I would love a movie!  There may just be too much epicness though and they'd butcher it.  Just putting it out there...

A book you recommend to everyone:

Wonder by R. J. Palacio

Well I recommend Throne of Glass too but I already used that... Anyway, Wonder is an amazing story with an equally amazing message that's so relevant in this day in age.  Everyone should read it!

A book with characters that you wish you could talk to instead of just reading about:

The Sorcerer's Stone by J. K. Rowling

Again, Throne of Glass but since that wasn't an option... Harry Potter!  And just so you know, my Hogwarts invitation is just a couple years late (okay maybe a bit more than a couple but I'm still hoping)!  And don't laugh!  We all know you hoped too :D

A book or series that you pinned/shared the most quotes from:

The Covenant series by Jennifer L. Armentrout

The characters that JLA creates are so hilarious and have amazing one-liners.  And they have adventure and romance and everything too!  I basically liked/shared every quote I could.

That was so much fun!  Usually I forget about a lot of the books I read unless I'm prompted so it was really nice to go and revisit all of them.  This is an open tag!  Go and discover what books have been hiding on your 'read' shelves!

Oh, and HAPPY THE BLOOD OF OLYMPUS RELEASE DAY!!!  This is the end... *runs away crying*

  1. I really hate The Great Gatsby. The movie, on the other hand, was pretty good, but I have DiCaprio's accent in my head still after 3 months! O_O

    1. I loved the movie too! I heard so many complaints how people hated that the director incorporated modern music in the movie but I think it worked out perfectly :) Haha same! And the scene when he smiles and holds out his glass - amazing!

  2. This looks like a lot of fun! And I agree on the Skype one; I would love talking to Hermione and Ron and Harry, and also Dumbledore. I need to talk to someone wise who is amazing <3

    1. It was really fun - you should try it *hint hint* :D Me too! And it would be so cool to learn about Hogwarts and what's going on in the world of wizards!

  3. I'm glad you did this! :) I haven't read any of the books but Harry Potter and I agree with your choice, it really would be amazing to chat with them. I might just reread the series one of these days. Halo's cover really is beautiful and from your opinion I think I decided right when didn't give it a chance. I loved The Great Gatsby movie, I think the modern music really worked out it made it stand out from all the remade films. I plan to read the book as well but I tend to put classics aside and just read newer books. Horrible. I want to read The Book Thief as well, the story sounds wonderful and I'm interested in the movie, however I won't watch it until I read the book.

    1. So am I! I know right! I would love to hear all about what's happening in the wizarding world (because sadly, I'm still an undiscovered witch living in the Muggle world...). I think that's what drew me to Halo - the cover. But yeah, the story was just eh. Thank you!! Almost everyone I talk to just says "they did it all wrong! You can't mix modern music in with a timeless story!!". They are WRONG! I hope you like the book ^.^ Goodness yes, read the book first before the movie. I was halfway through the book when I watched the movie and I regret it so much.
