Movie Review Monday: Furious Seven

IMDB Blurb:
"Deckard Shaw seeks revenge against Dominic Toretto and his family for his comatose brother."

Review:
So this is the seventh installment in the Fast and Furious series starring Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Paul Walker (now deceased), Jason Statham, and Michelle Rodriguez.  Before I begin, let me just say that you should really watch these movies in order.  I've only seen the fifth and sixth movies in this series (Fast Five and The Fast and the Furious 6) so I didn't get as much out of the plot as I think I could have.  This is a great series to start watching if you love cars and action and people being all badass.  I know this isn't really related to a book but it is one of my favorite series' to watch just because of all the funny lines, action, etc, etc.

The best part of this movie for me was the ending.  As you probably know, Paul Walker tragically died in 2013 (he plays one of the lead characters).  They included such an amazing tribute in the movie for him both as the real person and as the character in the movie series.  There were two diverging roads and some heart-warming dialogue in this movie's usual style and it really showed how they're all wishing him well as he travels down a different path (becoming a family man in the series and accepting death in real life).  It was just the most heart-warming thing and it was most definitely my favorite part.

The rest, well it was typical Fast and Furious style.  Snarky lines, fast cars, family ideals, etc, etc.  I really like how they connect each movie to the next and make it more of a life for the characters instead of snippets.  It's a flowing story.

Another thing I really liked the soundtrack.  It was on point as always!

All the acting was very good as well.  I felt totally immersed in the movie and felt like I was actually there.  The stunts were very well done and most of the special effects were so realistic!

The Final Verdict:
An amazing movie whose ending really rouched my heart.  The soundtrack and acting were on point as well as most of the stunts and special effects.  I can't wait for the next movie!  I heard they have the plot planned out all the way to a tenth movie!

"'Why didn't you tell me we were married?'
'You can't tell someone they love you.'"

"'One last ride.'"

'"I don't have friends, I got family.'"

"'You drove a car through 2 buildings.'
'Actually, I think it was 3.'
'Oh, I'm sorry. 2 buildings, insult. 3 buildings, honor.'"

"I used to say I live my life a quarter mile at a time and I think that's why we were brothers - because you did too. No matter where you are, whether it's a quarter mile away or half way across the world. The most important thing in life will always be the people in this room, right here, right now. Salute mi familia. You'll always be with me. And you'll always be my brother."

    1. I hope you like it when you get to it! It did such a nice job of honoring his memory especially at the end. The music and the imagery brought tears to my eyes!

  2. My brother saw this movie, but I haven't. One of my friends showed me the song that was a tribute to Paul Walker and it was so sad but so heartwarming! Your review definitely makes me want to check out this movie :)
